JOB SUMMARY

The Department of Biomedical and Health Informatics at the facility is currently seeking a well qualified web UI developer to work as part of the Data Analytics & Management (DAM) Team in the Department of Biomedical and Health Informatics. This multi-disciplinary team of scientists, bioinformaticians, software engineers and web developers is focused on developing an ecosystem of bioinformatics applications for pediatric research. To aid in this effort, the UI Developer will be expected to leverage a strong working knowledge of UI libraries and tools and an understanding of appropriate visualizations and graphics for data science. They will be expected to both provide typical UI components of a scientific web portal as well as more cutting-edge ways to represent very diverse data. As a result the ideal candidate will be encouraged to think outside the box and take initiatives.

JOB FUNCTIONS
•    Designs and creates components that interface with secure REST APIs (level 2/3)
•    Builds single-page applications for the browsing of medical & scientific information
•    Builds specialized data visualization components to provide further insights into data, in particular create custom visualization components tailored for the type of data
•    Meets with research scientists and clinicians to help create new design and identify new use cases
•    Creates prototypes to help account for feedback iteratively
•    Stays up-to-date with new developments in the field (time allocated for training)

Hybrid, Primarily Remote Occasional Onsite PT, Minimum 20 Hrs/ Week, Average 25/ Week M-F, Normal Working Hours 9-5 EST (Flexible Working Hours Coordinated with the Department Staff) Extension/ Temp to Perm Possible - dependent on grant funding, staffing, approval, dept, performance, etc.

The grant is open for renewal towards the end of the year, if additional funding is provided there could be a discussion of making this a permanent position
